The DDML grant is intended to support agencies currently serving residents with intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD) in Douglas County, Colorado and those who would like to start providing services in our county. All local agencies serving the I/DD population are welcome to apply for these funds. Agencies may apply for multiple grants for different projects.

Those seeking Independent Living Skills can join our weekly group sessions in the Learning Center, or sign up for one-on-one training with one of our Independent Living Skills specialists. Step one is to complete an Independent Living Plan, where you outline the goal or goals you are looking to achieve. Step two is to meet regularly with your specialist until you are satisfied with your progress!

Foundation for Successful Living’s Healthy Relationship classes help individuals learn how to process the emotions that they are feeling and learn valuable information about relationships, sexuality, and dating in a way that will make sense in their lives. Class curriculum is geared towards individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our goal is teach our community how to have safe, healthy, and consensual relationships.

VAWA Legal Solutions provides legal assistance to immigrant spouses, children and, in some cases, parents who have suffered abuse and/or extreme mental cruelty from a United States Citizen (USC) or Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR). This provision of the law was created under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA).

Child find teams will evaluate how the child plays, learns, speaks, behaves and moves. The evaluation (at no cost to parents) determines if there is a significant delay or if there is a need for early intervention or special education services.
